BREAKING: They’ve done it! Ireland have beaten Italy 20-13 in the Aviva

Ireland secured a hard-fought victory over Italy in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations at Aviva Stadium today, winning 20-13 in a tense Round 2 encounter.

After a disappointing opening defeat to France, Ireland bounced back under pressure. Jamie Osborne crossed early for the hosts, but Italy struck back with a maul try from Giacomo Nicotera and led 10-5 at halftime thanks to Paolo Garbisi’s boot.

The second half saw Ireland rally. Jack Conan leveled the scores, Robert Baloucoune (on debut) touched down to edge ahead, and Jack Crowley added penalties to seal the win. Italy threatened late but couldn’t breach Ireland’s resilient defense.

The result gives Andy Farrell’s side their first points of the championship, while Italy’s brave performance highlights their growing threat. A gritty, entertaining contest that kept fans on edge until the final whistle.
