Gardai have confirmed this morning that a young child has tragically died following a road traffic accident in Co Kerry.
The 11-yr-old girl died following a collision between her bike and a van.
The incident happened as the child was cycling outside Abbeydorney, Tralee, on Monday evening at 7:30pm.
The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
The child was taken to University Hospital Kerry where tragically she passed away sometime later.
