Many people in Northern Ireland are afraid they’ll be effectively “locked out” of the Republic if a hard border is implemented after the Brexit negotiations finally get underway and deals are done.
What doesn’t make sense at the moment is how can there not be a hard border considering that there’s more than just the UK and Irish governements opinions to take into play.
Europe’s 27 member States are going to have their say on every angle to a Brexit deal and that includes devolution to the North, Scotland, Wales, Gibraltar and so on.
The fact that Northern Ireland’s government is up in the air isn’t helping things either – they need to get their position together as fast as possible so that they can deal with the UK’s EU negotiation team.
