Britons were asked not to drink too much after being allowed into pubs and restaurants from this week. Economy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng warned people against “excessive drinking” but insisted that despite concerns about the Indian variant of Covid, it is still safe to meet and socialise indoors.
The representative for Spelthorne added that people should maintain good hygiene and social distancing. He told LBC: ‘It is fairly clear to me in terms of common sense that what you can do is socialise in a normal way but obviously we advise against excessive drinking, endangering people, getting too many large groups together if that can be avoided.’
