Gardaí will use their discretion regarding the consumption of alcohol on newly installed seats in the streets in front of bars and restaurants that are not covered by alcohol permits, the Justice Minister said.
According to RTE, Heather Humphreys said Gardaí are working so that people can enjoy a summer in the great outdoors and that the vast majority of licensed sites act responsibly.
In a tweet, Humphreys said that the gardaí “will engage with licensed premises and will use their discretion, as they have done throughout Covid”.
