Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan says reproductive rate is significantly below zero but there are still large clusters of cases in residential care homes




The Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that the reproductive rate of Covid-19 is significantly below zero.

Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan said that the rate of the spread of infection is significantly below zero.

However Dr Holohan warned that we must not become complacent in our efforts and warned that there is still a large number clusters in residential care homes.

The Chief Medical officer said there are 371 clusters in residential care settings with 4,000 cases in nursing homes.
