Broadcaster Claire Byrne has been rumoured to have her hat in the ring to replace Ryan Tubridy when he hangs up the Late Late Show reigns.
Byrne currently has a radio show and is the presenter of the Claire Byrne Live show on Monday nights on RTE One.
Tubridy is in his 10th year of the show this year and was rumoured to have ambitions of working in the UK like Terry Wogan did for so long.
A brief stint in the BBC for a summer appears to be the only UK broadcast Tubridy is being offered.
Sources say he’ll remain at the Late Late for another 5 years but that RTE big wigs would like a female presenter next and possibly even a young person.
