Close to 600 staff at Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) on the Fermanagh/Cavan border have been temporarily laid off.
Meanwhile, the organization directors are to take a 50 percent pay cut. Workers at Quinn Packaging – which supplies boxes and packaging for food service and is therefore deemed to be an essential business, whill continue to remain open.
QIH, which makes building materials and packaging, employs close to 830 workers in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, and Derrylin, Co Fermanagh.
