In an interview, Pope Francis stated that Ukraine, facing the prospect of loss, need to have the guts to talk to Russia about ending the conflict, reports Breaking News.
The head of the Catholic Church went on to say that the European country should not be embarrassed to have peace negotiations at the same table as its Russian rivals.
The Pope made his plea in an interview that was partially released on Saturday and was taped with Swiss broadcaster RSI last month.
“I think that the strongest one is the one who looks at the situation, thinks about the people, has the courage of the white flag, and negotiates,” he said, reports Breaking News.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has stated repeatedly that the nation that has been invaded must take the initiative in peace discussions. Ukraine is steadfast in its refusal to negotiate directly with Russia, reports Breaking News.
