A leading British scientist has predicted that the coronavirus will ‘settle’ among the human population and will never be eradicated.
Professor David Robertson, head of viral genomics and bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow, referred to the pandemic as ‘uncontrollable,’ adding that it is a ‘very successful’ virus.
The disease has so far infected almost 5m people worldwide and killed over 323,000, though the real figures are likely to be far higher.
