A Chinese virologist has claimed that the novel coronavirus was man-made in a Wuhan lab, but has not yet produced any proof of such claim.
Dr. Li Meng-Yan, a researcher at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, fled to the US earlier this year following claims that the Chinese Government was engaged in a ‘cover-up.’
Though the actual origin of the novel coronavirus remains a mystery, the scientific community generally agrees that the virus’ natural hosts are bats, and that at some point it jumped to a human probably via an intermediary host also of animal origin.
