Czech hospitals have begun shipping patients abroad as local medical facilities become overwhelmed.

The country has seen record numbers of patients coming into the hospital system within a relatively short period of time. According to official figures, 8,748 people were admitted to hospital with severe Covid-19 symptoms this Monday alone.

Some patients will be sent to Poland and others to Germany.
