Ireland has hit a grim milestone, as it has been confirmed today that over 2,000 people are in hospital with serious Covid-19 disease.
The total number is 2,023.
Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohan, has described the situation in Irish hospitals as ‘stark.’
Health authorities have said that the death toll resulting from Covid-19 is likely to increase significantly over the coming days and weeks.
