Italy is reporting a massive surge in coronavirus-related deaths again, with 993 dying on Thursday alone. This is the highest ever daily death toll in Italy.
The country was one of the hardest-hit at the onset of the pandemic in Europe.
The Italian Government has now imposed a 10pm curfew for New Year’s Eve.
