In yet another blow to the Irish nightlife industry, punters will be forced to buy tickets for nightclubs at least one hour prior to arriving at the door.
The inexplicable and rather idiotic measure, which has not been introduced anywhere else in the civilized world, has been received with dismay by the industry. The mechanism by which an electronic ticket prevents contagion of an infectious disease remains unclear, and could not be clarified by the ministers at this time.
Other Government guidelines suggest that, once inside the nightclub, people should remain masked, hold on to their tickets, and dance at all times to avoid catching the virus, even if fully vaccinated.
