The vast majority of Covid-19 restrictions could potentially remain in place until May it has been revealed.
According to RTE News, a Cabinet meeting on living with Covid-19 has heard that restrictions will potentially last well past the date of March 5th.
Although no official announcement has been made it is believed that Government Ministers are to continue with the cautious reopening of society that will coincide with the vaccine roll-out.
The news will come as a big blow to a number of businesses across the country who may have hoped to reopen their doors sooner rather than later.
RTE News reports that the revised living with Covid-19 plan will outline plans for the reopening of retail and hospitality, but it will stop short on offering any specific dates.
It is believed that Government Ministers are committed to reopening schools on a phased basis on March 1st, whilst a similar scenario could occur in the construction sector.
