Disneyland Resort in Anaheim in Orange County, Los Angeles will be the first COVID-19 super vaccine site, when the theme park becomes part of the fight against the global pandemic, authorities say.
The site will have the capacity to vaccinate thousands of residents every day and has just gotten underway this weekend.
NBC Los Angeles reports:
“The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process,” said acting Chairman Andrew Do, First District, in a county statement announcing the site. “We truly appreciate the support of the Orange County Fire Authority, our cities, and our residents as we continue to rollout COVID-19 vaccinations throughout the county.”
The funnctioning of this new site runs with a similar schedule to Los Angeles itself as it shifts Dodger Stadium from a super COVID-19 testing site to a super vaccination site.
