County Donegal has been thrust into the spotlight again over a road crash.
Tragically, a 6-yr-old girl and her mother, who was in her 20s, have both died following a road collision in Co Donegal. The crash, involving a car and a van, occurred on the R240 at Glentogher, Carndonagh, shortly after 6:30pm Wednesday. The mother passed away in hospital this evening.
The Co Donegal community is devastated, grappling with grief after the incident, which also left a two-year-old girl and a man in his 30s seriously injured. The three survivors, who were in the car, were initially taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, with two later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for further treatment. All remain in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are seeking witnesses and any available camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, and urge anyone with information to contact Buncrana Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 66-61-11, or any garda station.
