Donnelly: Masks may be mandatory until the winter

It really appears as though one day the government say one thing, the next they say something completely different. What to actually believe is hard to know after 15 months of a very uncertain ride.

The government have extended the draconian lockdown restriction powers right up until November – and will possibly extend them past that too.

During the Senate debate on the extension in the Dail, the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said that face masks may be mandatorily required until that time in crowded places. Obviously those who are medically exempt will not be required to adhere to this.

Many people feel that the draconian powers being extended right up until November does nothing other than give people little hope of getting back to normality.
