As the first 48-hour long strike action at Dublin Bus draws to a close, representatives from SIPTU and the NBRU are asking management to engage in urgent negotiations to avoid further industrial action.

Dublin Bus employees are seeking a 15% pay rise over the next three years. An offer of 8.25% rise over the same period has already been rejected.

About 400,000 people have been disrupted by the strike, which has created traffic chaos around the capital, and is causing financial losses to many businesses.
