Dublin City Council remove coats for homeless people from Ha’penny Bridge for “health and safety” reasons

There’s been uproar on social media after Dublin City Council remove close to 50 coats that were collected for homeless people and placed on Ha’penny Bridge for them to take.

They say that they removed the coats for health and safety reasons but that they’d be willing to work with homeless charities in a more appropriate area.

Homeless charity workers were on last night’s Claire Byrne Live show and said that the homeless crisis is getting out of control.

They say that they’re having to supply lunches for children as young as 4-yrs-old in an effort to help their families.

Sadly, they’ve had to give children “Santy keys” in an effort to reassure them that Santy will know where they are even though they don’t have a chimney.
