
An English visitor is in a critical condition after being attacked in the centre of Dublin during the early hours of this morning, reports RTE.
Emergency responders were alerted to the incident near Temple Bar Square at approximately 12.30am.
A man in his 40s was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he remains in a critical state, reports RTE.
Authorities have conducted a technical examination of the area, and a full investigation is now underway.
Gardaà are requesting that any individuals who witnessed the incident, have relevant information, or possess video recordings from the scene, reach out to Pearse Street Garda Station at 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or contact any local garda station, reports RTE.

Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan said he has received a briefing on the incident that happened overnight.
“While a garda investigation is under way I will not comment further but I want to wish the injured man a full recovery and appeal for any witnesses to come forward to assist An Garda SÃochána,” he said, reports RTE.
