The Force was with Dublin last night as the famous landmark the spire was turned into a light saber to mark the opening of the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens this weekend.
The iconic monument which is loved by some and loathed by many was turned blue on Wednesday evening to pay homage to Luke Skywalker and the gang. The colourful spike was the topic amongst many residents on social media with many praising the delightful attraction.
The Spire was turned blue with special effect lighting to mark the Premier of the highly anticipated movie which is expected to break box of records with producers hoping it will gross in the region of $2 billion over the coming months.
