An elderly motorist has died following a three-car collision on an Irish road.
The incident happened on the M6 westbound between Junction 18 and Junction 19 in Co. Galway at around 2pm today.
The deceased, an 80-year-old male, was the driver of one of the cars involved. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the other two vehicles, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 20s, were taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment. Their injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
