With less than a week to go to polling day, Joan Burton is about to lead her party into the worst election they’ve ever experienced.
The 67-yr-old is said to be “ignoring the polls” but secretly knows but her party’s and her own fate. Burton’s party is said to be running at 4% in polls with a real turnout expected to be as low as 2%.
The Tanaiste’s seat in her own constituency of Dublin West is said to be “all but lost” as she’s running a wayward 5th in the 4-seater.
One insider claims “Joan has lead the party into a point of no return. I really don’t think they’re actually be any Labour party in the Dail in a few weeks time”, he said.
