On the eve of the General Election, Enda Kenny and Joan Burton are launching their desperate pleas to remain in government, asking for ‘clear signals’ from voters.

They made the comments while holding a joint media conference, just ahead of the election news blackout that will come into effect at 2pm.

Mr. Kenny expressed his hopes that the people of Ireland will allow him to be the boss for another 5 years.

He said “What I would like to happen is that a clear signal will be given and a clear decision made by the people when they do cast their votes,”

“One of the ways that they can avoid confusion and instability and the consequent dangers in that is to support the Government that has been in office for the past five years.”

Joan Burton meanwhile nodded fervently and reiterated the same plea, stating that Fine Gael and Labour have ‘worked well’ over the last five years.
