Emergency services request people are vigilant, mind animals and respect the elderly over Halloween

People have been advised to be very careful tonight with children, bonfires and fireworks.

There has been a very stern warning for people to keep animals from danger, inside if possible and as far away from fireworks and bonfires as possible.

Emergency services have said that it’s imperative that people are extra vigilant this week. They want all young people to be extra careful using fireworks and around bonfires.

Likewise, we ask them to be considerate to people around them particularly the elderly and animals.

A member of the fire brigade told The Liberal:
“We know people will be using fireworks, but please be very careful as they can be extremely dangerous. I’d like people to keep an eye on their elderly neighbours and ensure they don’t open the doors to anyone on Halloween night itself, even trick or treaters.”

“Finally, I ask people to share this message with their friends and be extra careful when out and about on the roads. Please share this information with your friends.”

People are advised to share this information with their friends.
