An anti-immigration march in Dublin’s city centre attracted a sizable turnout this afternoon, reports RTE.
The demonstrators moved from the Garden of Remembrance and along O’Connell Street just before 3:30 p.m., where there was a noticeable police presence, including a queue of Public Order Unit officers.
At the GPO, gardaí stood between the marchers and a smaller group of pro-Palestine demonstrators, during which slogans were exchanged, reports RTE.
Following its departure, the anti-immigration march regrouped at Customs House Quay for a demonstration that lasted until almost five o’clock in the evening.
“Get them out, get them out” protests against the government were heard throughout the demonstration, along with condemnation of the opposition political groups, reports RTE.
