It’s looking more likely as the days go by that there’s going to be a no-deal Brexit which could see a hard border being imposed once more, this time by the Irish government.

The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has issued a stern warning to European politicians that he believes there won’t be a deal between Brussels and London on Brexit.

MEPs earlier had said that there can be no Brexit deal without the Irish backstop.

“I can’t objectively tell you whether the contacts we have undertaken with Mr Johnson’s government will lead to an agreement between now and mid-October,” Mr Barnier told parliamentary group leaders according to RTE.

It’s understood that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is still determined to ge ta deal – whether he can or not remains to be seen.
