Expert gives advice as to how to adjust your body clock when the clocks change next weekend

Now that winter is over and spring has here, longer evenings, brighter days, and higher temperatures are all expected, reports The Mirror.

The hands on your watch will advance by one hour at the end of next weekend, which means the sun won’t set until after 8 p.m. on Sundays.

However, the changing of the seasons also brings with it a shift in the clocks, reports The Mirror.

Although this will be welcomed by many, the shift that moves an hour of sunshine from the morning to the evening may affect people’s sleep-syncing habits and general quality of sleep.

Rhysa Phommachanh, Health and Personal Care Specialist at Landys Chemist, said: “The transition to Daylight Saving Time (DST), when clocks go forward by one hour in the spring, can significantly impact people’s sleep syncing routines and overall sleep quality,” reports The Mirror.

“This change effectively shifts an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening, which can disrupt the body’s internal clock or circadian rhythm,” Rhysa added, reports The Mirror.
