Extinction Rebellion climate change activists who are accused of carrying out live-streamed graffiti attack in Dublin have their trials adjourned

Two climate change activists who allegedly carried out a graffiti attack on public property have had their trials adjourned.

According to RTE, 29-year-old Orla Murphy and 21-year-old Zachery Lumley are Extinction Rebellion members.  They are accused of splattering  paint on the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin last March.  It is alleged that the words “no more empty promises” were sprayed across the entrance to the Department and that the attack was live-streamed on a Facebook page

Murphy was a film student before getting involved in climate activism while Lumley is a biology student at Oxford University.  A number of people came to the Criminal Court of Justice so they could show their support for the pair.

The trial will not now take place until March due to the fact that the defence team had not had the chance to read some of the witness statements.
