Failte Ireland: Overseas visitors don’t come to Ireland for the weather and we need to embrace that too

Failte Ireland say that overseas visitors will be welcome to the Emerald Isle once again from roughly mid summer and that hotels, guesthouses and b&bs will be able open their doors to our foreign friends.

Commenting on staycations, representatives said that Ireland had a great summer of internal holidays last year and that hopefully that can be replicated again this year.

They say that Irish people tend to be habitual, go to the same places, do the same things, but Ireland has plenty of things to discover.

It’s not yet known what the government’s plans are in relation to foreign tourists coming here, but reps say that overseas visitors don’t come to Ireland for the weather at the best of times anyway.
