French President Emmanuel Macron has sounded a warning that “out-of-control leftism and cancel culture” spreading from campuses and corporate media outlets in the United States is a threat to France’s identity.
In recent years so-called ‘cultural Marxism’ which perverts traditional Marxism by promoting a totem poll of victimhood based not on economic class but on identities such as race, religion, sexuality etc. has become increasingly prevalent in United States and Anglophone world.
White people in general being the new demonised group, and other sub-groups such as straight people, “cis-gender” people and men in general being portrayed as the enemy of human progress and equality as opposed to the bourgeoisie.
President Macron is backed by a collection of intellectuals who are arguing that France is being contaminated by this post-modern leftism taking root in the U.S which they claim is undermining French society and is an attack on French heritage.
In October, French education minister Jean-Michel Blanquer warned that there is a “battle to wage against an intellectual matrix from American universities”.
