There could be further disruption at the country’s schools as the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) have announced that they have recommended that its members reject the new Public Service Pay Agreement.
It is understood that ASTI are set to reject the deal even though a number of key benefits have been introduced.
However, the ASTI say the possibility of unequal pay is the main stumbling block in its members accepting the deal.
Meanwhile the INTO and TUI executives have also confirmed that they have recommended that their members reject the latest revisions to the Agreement.
