High-ranking Gardai have confirmed that the so-called ISIS Bride Lisa Smith is currently the subject of a ‘terrorist investigation’. It was also recently announced that the former member of the Irish Defence Forces would be ‘quizzed’ by Gardai is she was ever to return to Ireland.
Ms. Smith, originally from Dundalk in Co. Louth, converted to Islam and travelled to Syria to join ISIS back in 2015.
She’s now being held in a Syrian camp along with her daughter. Ms. Smith has repeatedly asked to be allowed back into Ireland after ISIS failed in its objective to create a new caliphate.
