It really doesn’t get much worse than this.
Gardai have launched an investigation after an elderly man aged 93 was stabbed in home in Co. Louth on Saturday afternoon.
The man was rushed to Our Lady Of Lourdes hospital following the attack in his Blackrock, Dundalk, Co. Louth home.
It’s understood that the elderly man is in a very serious condition in hospital following the attack just before 3pm on Saturday.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the area of Sandy Lane or the nearby Community Centre between 2pm and 3pm.
