Gardai in Co Offaly have confirmed that they are currently questioning a teenage about a stabbing incident which resulted in the death of a man over the weekend.
According to The Sun Newspaper the teenager is being questioned after the victim who has since been named as Bruno Rolandi, an Italian national, was killed in his home on Sunday night in Ballyfore, near Edenderry, Co Offaly.
Although Gardai have not identified a motive for the attack they have revealed they are treating Mr Rolandi’s death as a tragic incident.
It is believed that Mr Rolandi was at home with his family when he was stabbed on Sunday evening.
Despite best their best efforts paramedics who attended the scene shortly after three attack were unable to save him due to the extent of his injuries.
Gardai say an investigation is currently ongoing.
