Gardai are this morning urging motorists to drive with caution, as a spell of freezing weather takes hold across the country.
A weather warning is now in place for counties Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan, and Monaghan. The warning will stay in effect until 6pm this evening.
The national forecaster is warning of significant snowfalls over the coming 72h as temperatures fall below freezing across many areas.
