Met Éireann has issued low temperature and ice warnings across the country, predicting “bitterly cold” conditions in the coming days, reports Independent.
There is an alert for low temperatures and ice in Donegal, Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim, classified as Status Yellow.
“Very cold overnight and early Monday morning with the danger of icy patches,” stated the national meteorologist.
Here and there are spots of freezing fog, a few isolated showers of sleet or snow.
This alert will be in effect from tonight at 7 p.m. until Monday, January 15, at 11 a.m, reports Independent.
Concurrently, a second alert is issued that lasts for the same amount of time and affects all of Leinster, Munster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, and Galway.
The animal welfare could be impacted by the frigid weather, and it could also make travelling challenging.
It follows the issuance of a snow and ice warning for Northern Ireland by the UK Met Office, reports Independent.
