Glimmer of Hope: UK scientists to trial Covid-19 vaccine which could have a chance of success on Thursday




British people and people around the world have been given a glimmer of hope as the UK Government have confirmed that human trials of a Covid-19 vaccine will begin on Thursday.

In an announcement made today, the British Health Minister Matt Hancock confirmed that trials will begin on Thursday and rapid progress is being made in developing a vaccine for COVID-19.

According to Sky News, Hancock said the vaccine which is being developed by researchers at Oxford University has an 80% chance of success.

Although Hancock warned that nothing is certain, he stated that scientists are hopeful and are ready to begin mass production before the trial ends.

The British Health Minister added that the trial at Oxford University and another trial at the Imperial College of London will receive millions of pounds in funding.

The latest developments now gives the British public and even those around the world a glimmer of in terms of tackling the virus, however despite a possible breakthrough the prospect of manufacturing the vaccine for millions around the world will prove difficult.
