The Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald has confirmed that the Good Friday alcohol ban will remain in place this year. However she will consider lifting the ban in the future.
The news comes after there were strong calls from the tourist industry to allow pubs open on Good Friday with rugby’s Champions Cup quarter finals will taking place on that weekend.
Although Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald said she is seriously considering the issue of the Good Friday alcohol ban but she said no decision will be made until later this year.
