The Irish taxpayer will be forced to foot the a €8.4 million bill to build 30 modular homes in Drumnavanagh on the Farnham Road which is projected to house as many as 120 Ukrainians, reports Northern Sound.
The mass plantation of tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees across the country coupled with record numbers of asylum seekers from elsewhere such as Algeria and Georgia continues unabated as government disregards public objections.
Now the government has ordered all local authorities to locate suitable sites for the building of modular homes specifically for Ukrainians and despite the fact Irish taxpayers will fund their construction, no Irish need apply to be housed in them..
It will be required that these sites be near a town and close to certain amenities with the Drumnavanagh site being the first such project but more planned in Cork, Wicklow, Sligo, Mayo and Galway.
This modular home building scheme may be extended to all asylum seekers as direct provision is fazed out in years to come and with Minister Roderick O’Gorman stating Ireland will welcome “Climate Change Refugees” these plantations are sure to spring up in every county.
