The Irish Coast Gaurd managed to rescue nine people including six children after their boat suffered engine failure on Lough Derg yesterday afternoon.
The Coast Gaurd say they were alerted to the incident just after 3pm when a number of onlookers spotted vessel was off course and that those on board were waving at them to try and maintain visual contact.
The onlookers alerted the Irish Coast Guard and the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat based at Dromineer in Tipperary shore was quickly launched.
The rescue mission was successful and all passengers on board were reported as safe with no injuries late last night.
Well done to all concerned.
