Great news! No more mobile roaming charges in Europe from 2017

mobile

We’re happy to report that finally the basically immoral roaming charges that are currently enforced on all of us across Europe will be eradicated from June 2017.

What does that mean in plain English? Basically topping up your phone by 20 quid will go as far for you in France as it does in Dublin! You know that “all you can use data”, well now it’ll actually mean you can use “all that data” anywhere in Europe and be charged exactly the same.

It’s still around a year and a half away, but more good news shows a reduction in roaming charges will happen from April 30, 2016. This reduction will have roaming surcharges must not exceed 5c per minute for calls, 2 cent for text messages or 5 cent per megabyte of mobile data.

So to sum up, come June 2017, you’ll all be able to read The Liberal anywhere in Europe for the same price as at here 😉
