42-yr-old architect Graham Dwyer has been found guilty of murdering Elaine O’Hara.
A jury of five women and seven men took seven and half hours to deliberate the facts of the two months trial and came back with a unanimous verdict of guilty.
The verdict, which was read out just before 4pm, was heard in a packed courtroom.
Justice Tony Hunt said:
“I agree 100% with the verdict. I don’t mind expressing view at this time. I hope I was careful not to express the view at any other stage. I whole-heartedly endorse the verdict. The question of suicide simply wasn’t there.”
On hearing the guilty verdict, Elaine O’Hara’s family members, her father, brother and sister were all in tears and embraced while Dwyer made no reaction whatsoever and stood motionless.
