A Syrian refugee who is currently living in Germany has received great praise for his humanitarian efforts recently as he has took to the street’s of Berlin to give food to the city’s homeless.
The man named Alex Assali has touched the hearts of many after a picture of him appeared on social media showing him handing out food to the German people, it is believed the man who had to flee the war torn state spends his Saturday evening distributing hot food to around 100 people sleeping rough in Berlin’s Alexanderplatz. The generous refugee recently spoke to the Huffington Post to tell his story as to why he fled Syria, Assali told the U.S. media outlet that he was forced to leave his home after he posted criticisms of Bash Al-Assad online, which in turn forced him to run for his life and leave his family behind.
Assali’s touching story was broke when a photo of him was posted on Facebook by his friend Tabea, where it has since been viewed by two million people. In her heartwarming post Tabea writes that Assali “has lost everything; he had to leave his family back in Syria because people wanted to kill him… Even though he doesn’t have a lot, he goes on the street and distributes food to the homeless.” “God bless him, he is a blessing for so many more,”she says.
