Heavy-handed French police use violence and tear gas to suppress protests in Paris

7,000 French police have used batons, fists and tear gas to supress the latest round of Yellow Vest protests in Paris this weekend.

Police moved in after it became apparent that a climate change march had been infiltrated by the Yellow Vest Movement.

The Yellow Vest protests which began in response to planed carbon taxes on fuel in the country have evolved into a larger movement against what the people see as a disconnect, globalist establishment personified in banker turned politician President Emmanuel Macron.

In response to the protest, the French government shelved the legislation, designed as response to climate change, but the protests have continued.

Over time the government in has sought suppress the protests through violence and intimidation using tear gas, baton rounds and even rubber bullets at times. Footage showing police savagely beating protestors, reporters and by standers has been widely shared and is now a common occurrence.

Authorities have also now banned public protest in Paris and other cities and several hundred protestors were arrested in Paris alone on Saturday.
