HERO: Woman saves toddler from choking on a piece of meat in McDonalds on Friday

Kate Wallace Daly is being heralded a hero after she saved a child’s life in McDonalds on Friday. Mrs Daly was having dinner in McDonalds with her two children when she noticed a neighbouring mother’s child was choking badly with her face turning red.

With split-second thinking Ms Wallace Daly jumped from her seat and sprung into action. The child’s mother was panicking but Ms Wallace Daly took the baby from its mother and managed to massage and tap the toddler’s back until a piece of meat came flying from the infant’s mouth.

The child’s mother thanked Kate numerous times, but the humble woman was quick to downplay any heroics. The 29-yr-old has made the story public to help raise awareness of such situations, and she described how previous training just kicked-in and she was able to perform. She urged all parents to seek first aid training to be ready for such a scenario.

Calls for Ms Wallace Daly’s actions to be recognised as heroism have already gained traction.
