There was good news for up to 300,000 homes and business premises in rural areas as the Government confirmed that high-speed broadband will be installed in these areas within the next 90 weeks.
The news which will be welcomed by communities across the country was announced by the Communications Minister Denis Naughten recently after Government and eir reached an agreement.
The plan which will be expected to be completed by December 2018, will see broadband delivered to 300,575 premises.
Both the the Department of Communications and eir say all homes and businesses will receive the minimum download speeds of 30 megabits per second and 6 megabits per second of uploads speeds.
