Historic night for Irish football as Dundalk beat Bate Borisov 3-0 to reach Champions League play-offs

Tonight was an historic night for Irish club football as Dundalk FC made history by booking their place in the champions league play-offs with a 3-0 win over Bate Borisov in Tallaght.

Talisman David McMillian gave the lilywhites an historic lead on the stroke of half time, before he gracefully added a second on the hour mark. The night then turned into one that every Dundalk fan and league of Ireland supporter will never forget as Robbie Benson added a third late on.

The result now means the lilywhites are one game away from the lucrative group stages, with them netting a pretty sum of €4m for their efforts. Stephen Kenny’s men have also guaranteed themselves European football from now til December as loss in the next round would see them being given a place in the Europa league group stages at least.

Well done Dundalk.
